Adam Durrani has spent more than forty years in the international payments market. His career spans the UK, Europe and Asia, working across wholesale banknotes, foreign exchange, payments and commercial operations. He has built and led commercial teams in each region, negotiated at every level of the market, and worked with mid-market merchants, multinational corporates, regulated payment institutions and public sector bodies — on both sides of the buyer-provider relationship.
Four decades is long enough to have watched the global payments industry transform: from paper-based correspondent banking and physical cash logistics, through the rise of the card networks and electronic banking, into the present moment of stablecoin authorisation, instant payments and embedded finance. The constant has been the commercial economics of how money moves — who pays what to whom, why, and where there is room for the market to work better.
He founded Payment Strategy Partners to apply that experience to the mid-sized businesses the large consultancies cannot profitably serve, and to the firms building the next generation of payment products.

His work concentrates on cash and cash logistics, foreign exchange and cross-border payments, banking-as-a-service and sponsor banking, the commercial architecture of the payments stack, senior advisory for licensed payments firms and stablecoin applicants, and positioning where the UK, European and Asian markets connect.
Adam holds a small number of non-executive and advisory roles alongside his work at Payment Strategy Partners. Details are available on request.
